Terms of service
Simple rules for a simple game. By using Culprit you accept them.
The service
Culprit is a daily deduction game offered by Antonio Morlino (info@antoniomorlino.com). One case a day, changing at midnight Rome time: the same for everyone playing without an account, in a personal version (same story, other suspects and another culprit) for players with an account. We may change or discontinue the service; if we ever close it, we will announce it in the game in advance.
Account
The account is personal. Keep it to yourself: sign-in links last 20 minutes and are for you only. You can ask to delete it at any time from the settings (see "Deleting your account"). We may suspend or close accounts used to abuse the service, for example to get around the limits on stars and gifts.
Deleting your account
You can ask to delete your account and all your data at any time, from Settings → Delete account and data, at the bottom of the page. Before going ahead the game asks you to confirm.
The account closes at once, on all your devices, and you have 24 days to change your mind: just sign in again, with the same e-mail or the same Google account, to reactivate it as it was. When the 24 days are over without a new sign-in, the account and all the data linked to it are deleted for good from our servers and can no longer be recovered, neither by you nor by us.
With the account you lose your games, your streak, your stars (including the ones you bought), your cards, unused generations and the detective drawn from your photo. A deletion you ask for gives no right to a refund for digital content already supplied. To keep a memory of your cases, save first the videos and pictures you want to keep.
You can also remove only the detective from your photo (Settings → Your detective): portrait, animations and photo are deleted at once and cannot be recovered; to have it again you need a generation you have left or a new purchase.
Stars
Stars are an in-game currency: they pay for the inspector's hints and for extra cases after the first of the day, and can be gifted to friends. They have no monetary value, cannot be converted into money or transferred outside the game. Earned stars stop at 10, bought stars at 99. They can also be won and spent in Culprit Arcade: the first three on the leaderboard of the day get 3, 2 and 1, and there they pay for more time and for help with the word.
Leaderboard and unlocks
The monthly leaderboard counts the rating stars of the cases closed on their own day by players with an account. Whoever is first at the end of the month is shown as the month's winner; whoever reaches the star milestone shown in the game unlocks one generation of the detective drawn from their photo. These are in-game contents with no monetary value, which cannot be converted into money or transferred: this is neither a contest nor a prize promotion. We may change rules and milestones, and cancel points and unlocks obtained by cheating (for example with several accounts or with automated programs).
Purchases
Star packs are one-off purchases, with no subscription, paid through Stripe (card) or PayPal on the website, or through Google Play in the Android app (prices, receipts and refunds follow Google Play's rules). Prices include VAT. Stars are credited right after payment.
As this is digital content delivered immediately, by purchasing you expressly agree that the credit happens at once and acknowledge that you lose the right of withdrawal for distance purchases. If something goes wrong, for example the stars do not arrive, write to info@antoniomorlino.com: we fix it or refund.
Conduct
Gift messages are short and visible only to the recipient. Do not use them to insult, harass or spam. Do not try to tamper with the game, the server or other people's accounts.
Content and ownership
Cases, characters, texts, illustrations, comics and front pages are ours or generated by the game. You may freely share the results, videos and images the game produces for you. Character names and stories are fictional: any resemblance to real people is coincidental.
Liability
The game is provided as is. We do our best to keep it running every day, but we cannot guarantee it will be free of interruptions or errors. To the extent allowed by law we are not liable for indirect damages arising from the use of the game. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer.
Law and jurisdiction
Italian law applies. Disputes with a consumer are heard by the court of the consumer's place of residence. Last update: 2026-10-19.
